Ace Gospel Saxophonist and Music Minister is out with a fresh body of work Titled “Hymns and Worship” to bless and inspire the body of Christ with the aim to improve their mental health psychologically and increase their longing for the true God.
The 14 Track album features Shola Sax on soprano saxophone with prolific Pianist and producer TeeKeyz. “Hymns and Worship” adopts the original concept of ancient and Modern hymnal with fusions of Saxophone and Piano further by changing up the lineup and tossing in some unexpected jazz surprises, including a medley that miraculously blends contemporary worship songs.
Shola Sax is one of the known few contemporary Saxophonists in Nigeria who is vibrant, young, a prolific performer, astute musico-quinessential, a born dancer, Songwriter, Worship Leader, Music Director with a very strong sense of direction.
His desire to see a rise in the mental health of his listeners as a result of the global economic meltdown which also has contributed to the decrease in people’s relationship with God is a great inspiration for this new Album.
And in his words “The psychological effect of COVID19 on those who fought and defeated the disease like me, who witnessed it and who lost loved ones to it led to the increase in my thirst to create something that will aid good Mental Health, Relieve Stress and increase intimate relationship with God. The songs on the album “Hymns and Worship” were carefully selected and re-arranged to suite its purpose.”

Biography :
Idowu Oluwasola was born into the family of Pastor Samuel Oluwasola. His father is a clergy man and a church organist, while his mother a civil worker.
While at a very tender age, Idowu exhibited a very strong interest in the art of music where he began to learn the rudiments of music from his eldest brother and later went to St. David’s Music School (Affiliate of Royal School of Music). Shola Sax, as a stage name, began to learn woodwind instruments while primary school. His interest in music never stops him from pursuing his academic and professional career.
Before Shola Sax came to lime light, he had been under the tutelage of well-known musicians like Mike Aremu, Jesse King, King Sunny Ade, Pst. Kunle Ajayi, Mr. Segun Ogunbekun, Mr. Shola Osanyinlusi, Peter Falade and many more.
OLUWASOLA Idowu (Shola Sax) have a hunger of the mind which asks for knowledge of all around him, and the more he gains, the more his desire, the more he sees, the more he is capable of seeing.
He is a graduate from Ambrose Alli University, an Oracle Certified Professional since 2009 and a Harvard School of Public Health Trained Database Specialist – A Professional par excellence, a Health Informatics Professional and a Data Scientist.
