Luke 5:17-26 tells the story tells how the friends of a paralytic made a hole in the roof to lower him down to Jesus. There were two things present that worked together to free this man from the disease. v20: “when he saw their FAITH.” v17: “the POWER of the Lord was present TO HEAL them.”
When these two teams up and work together no sickness can stand. If faith was the only thing the man would not have to be let down through the roof. They had faith before this. So faith alone did not heal this man, neither did the power alone. It was the two working together. Our faith joined with His power causes recovery to begin. In this story, their faith needed to join up with God’s Healing Power. But there was something in the way (the roof), which had to be removed. Do we have anything standing between us and His Healing Power? Yes – unbelief -caused by a lack of knowledge. We can remove this by a diligent study of the Word of God.”
